CRIMSON continues with its M&E tasks

CRIMSON is continuing steadily performing its tasks as M&E mechanism of the projects under the umbrella of the CMR. In March, the project launched a mid-term review of the WeCAPS project to evaluate the progresses of the project since its inception. Two CRIMSON experts travelled to Cote d’Ivoire and Senegal to obtain first hand information analyse concretely the achievements of WeCAPS in the ports of Abidjan and Dakar. The results of the evaluation will be delivered in mid-May.
Upcoming activities
Attendance of the European Maritime Days – CRIMSON will participate in the European Maritime Days, an event organised by DG MARE in Ravenna, Italy, on 19-20 April. The event provides an engaging and complete interactive experience to catch up on the current state of play on a broad range of issues concerning the blue economy and the marine environment and discuss ways of moving forward. CRIMSON will use the occasion to display the work of the CMR in the stand available for EEAS actions, along with ESIWA, EUNAVFOR Atalanta and Frontex.
Pacific Ocean Mapping – After delivering the study “Maritime Challenges in the Pacific Ocean: Key actors, frameworks and the way forward”, CRIMSON has been working on a mapping of the initiatives of a number of donors active in the maritime security domain in the Pacific Ocean. The report will build on the results and structure of a similar mapping delivered in 2020 on Southeast and South Asia. This follow-up exercise will update the results of the first round of analysis and will expand the geographical scope to cover the Pacific Island region.
