On 9 and 10 April, after more than two years of implementation, GoGIN brings together its stakeholders in Dakar to take stock of the project’s results and to discuss an action plan for the next two years.
On this occasion, the representatives of 27 maritime centres of 19 coastal countries of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) and the Gulf of Guinea Commission (GGC) will share their state of play and discuss about the action plan for the next two years of GoGIN, the interregional network of the Gulf of Guinea. For most of the countries in the Gulf of Guinea, the security of the maritime domain is paramount to develop and guarantee the sustainability of their “Blue Economy”, which touches upon different sectors including fisheries, tourism, transport, trade, offshore exploitation and more.
GoGIN and its partners will analyse what needs to be done to support the centres to become fully operational, while identifying priorities in terms of training activities, recommendations, information systems and legal assessment.
