In its March newsletter, the Contact Group on Piracy off the Coast of Somalia (CGPCS) reserved a great space to two CMR projects, CRIMARIO and CRIMLEA. The CGPCS is an international governance mechanism established in 2009 to facilitate the discussion and coordination of actions among states and organizations to suppress Somali piracy, hence sharing its geographical area of action with CRIMARIO and CRIMLEA.
With a focus on Maritime Security Awareness (MSA), CRIMARIO is actively working in the Western Indian Ocean, as well as CRIMLEA, which aims at reinforcing the capacity of their law enforcement agencies, forensic examiners/officers, prosecutors and coastguards.
The CGPCS newsletter showed and explained in details the activities that the two projects have been implementing in the last few months.
