The European Union (EU), with support of the Critical Maritime Route project for Gulf of Guinea (CRIMGO) and the Regional Maritime University (RMU) in Accra has organised an eight-week course for stakeholders in the maritime industry.
The course was designed for the mid-managers to address issues including maritime regulations, prosecution of illegal activities, and fair governance of the maritime domain.
The programme attracted participants from seven coastal countries of the Gulf of Guinea – Ghana, Benin, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Nigeria, and Togo.Participants were taken through various courses on maritime security and were presented with certificates.
The courses, developed by CRIMGO, aim to develop common skills among the various agencies involved in maritime safety and security around the Gulf of Guinea.
